II. Various Types of Football Odds

1. European Handicap

Also known as 1×2, this is the most common type of odds used by bookmakers to determine which team is stronger or weaker. However, to play this type of bet, players need to have skills and a thorough understanding of the 1×2 betting odds to accurately predict the match outcome.

The European Handicap odds offer three betting options: Win – Draw – Loss. Specifically:

1: Betting on the home team to win.

X: Betting on a draw between the two teams.

2: Betting on the away team to win.

There are currently two main types:

When participating in this type of odds, players need to adjust to the strength of each team in the match, as bookmakers offer different odds depending on the strength of the teams. The stronger team usually has lower odds, while the weaker team has higher odds.

For example, in a match between France vs Iran, these two teams have a significant difference, resulting in different odds. If a player chooses to bet on 1 for France to win, and France wins, the player will win money according to the odds offered by the bookmaker. Conversely, if the player bets on Iran to win, and Iran wins, the player will also win money according to the corresponding odds.

2. Asian Handicap

As the name suggests, this type of odds originates from the Asian betting community, but it has spread widely and is increasingly popular in European countries as well. The most distinct difference from European Handicap is that Asian Handicap only offers two betting options, excluding the draw.

This is a handicap betting type. In this, when there is an imbalance between two sides, the stronger team will have to give the weaker team a certain number of goals. For example, giving 1 goal, 1.25 goals, 1.5 goals, etc.

General concept of Asian Handicap odds

Asian Handicap is the most favored type of odds among betting enthusiasts due to its diverse betting options and attractive betting odds. Asian Handicap is also known as Handicap, Handicap Betting, abbreviated as HDP.

The special feature of this type of odds compared to others is the addition of handicap odds. Depending on the match situation, bookmakers will offer different handicap odds to create a balanced situation for the match.

Handicap 1/4 (0.25)

The team on top will give the team on the bottom half a draw, if you choose the team on top, if that team wins, you win, but if the match ends in a draw, you lose half of your bet, and if it loses, you lose your entire bet. If you choose the team on the bottom, it's the opposite.

Handicap 1/2 (0.5) also known as half goal handicap

The team on top will give the team on the bottom half a goal and if the match ends in a draw, the team at the bottom will win.

Handicap 3/4 (or 0.75, 0.5/1)

The team on top will give the team on the bottom half a goal and if the match ends in a draw, you lose all your bet but if it wins by one goal, you win half of your bet and if it wins by two or more goals, you win all your bet. The logic is opposite if you choose the team on the bottom.

Handicap 1 1/4 (1.25 or 1 1/4)

The team on top will lose half your bet if they win by one goal difference, win the full amount if they win by two goals difference, and lose all if they draw or lose. The logic is the same if you choose the team on the bottom.

Handicap 1 1/2 (1.5 or 1 1/2)

The team on top will lose all your bet if they win by one goal difference and win the full amount if they win by two goals difference or more.

Handicap 1 3/4 (1.75 or 2 -1/4)

The team on top will win half your bet if they win by two goals difference and win the full amount if they win by three goals difference or more.

Handicap 1 draw

This means the team at the top will give the team at the bottom a goal. If the top team wins by one goal, it's a draw, if it wins by two or more goals, it wins all the bet, and if it draws or loses, it loses the bet. The logic is the same for the bottom team.

Handicap 2 (2 draws)

It will refund for both teams if the top team wins by two goals difference and the top team will only win if it wins by three or more goals. Similarly for Handicap 2.1/4, 2.1/2, 2.3/4, etc.

3. Over/Under

In English, this is called Over/Under or O/U. This refers to the total number of goals scored by both teams at the end of the match. Players placing Over/Under bets don't need to worry about which team wins or loses; they only need to focus on the total number of goals scored in a match.

Choosing Over means betting that the total number of goals scored in the match will exceed the predicted number set by the telegram soccer tips  Choosing Under means betting that the total number of goals scored will be lower than the bookmaker's prediction. If the match ends with the exact number of goals as predicted by the bookmaker, the player will receive a refund.

To better understand how Over/Under football betting works, let's look at a specific example:

A football match is taking place with an Over/Under odds ratio of 2 goals. Your winning or losing opportunities are:

When you bet Over: This means you believe that both teams will score more than 2 goals. If the match ends with a score of 2-1, 3-2, 4-2, etc., with a total number of goals exceeding 2, you win the bet.

When you bet Under: This means you believe that the match will not have more than 2 goals. If the match ends with a score of 0-0, 1-0, 1-1, etc., with a total number of goals less than 2, you win the bet.

In the case of the match ending with exactly 2 goals, whether you bet Over or Under, you will receive a refund because of the draw. This means you neither win nor lose, and the bookmaker returns your bet.

In conclusion, understanding the various types of football odds, betting rates, and handicaps is essential for any football betting enthusiast. With this knowledge, you can make informed decisions and increase your chances of success in football betting.
